We make open-source software that helps biologists build interactive, electronic, tree-based keys and multi-entry keys. For examples or to download the software, click here.
We make tools to help scientists manage their data in a
collaborative environment. Our current projects include a JPEG
2000 image annotation editor and RMEI, a P2P (peer-to-peer)
based protocol for editing structured data. More recently, the
collaboration with the Harvard University Herbaria explores
distributed annotations of distributed biodiversity
data. Other collaborations include standards efforts work
We develop distributed XML access controls for biodiversity data, with collaborators including NatureServe.
